About Hamlet Companies
Utah is one of the fastest growing states in the nation, boasting a 30 percent increase in population from 1990 to 2000. Much of the growth is internal, with experts predicting that the Wasatch Front will add one million people by the year 2020. Such dramatic expansion has fueled the demand for value-priced communities to meet a growing population. The Hamlet companies have formed an organization that addresses almost every customer need related to the state's booming residential real estate market.
It was January of 1994 when Hamlet Founder Michael Brodsky moved to Utah after spending 21 years in various management positions including 14 years with a prominent national homebuilder. Michael had a vision of providing top quality, value-priced communities and home products to the Utah market. He set about to assemble a top-notch management team and a group of companies to address almost every customer need related to the residential real estate market. Over the next few years, he and other key executives founded four organizations that comprise the Hamlet companies. Michael credits Hamlet's success to key management members who lead each Hamlet company as well as the company's customer-driven philosophy. "We listen to our customers and do what we say we'll do," says Michael. Today Hamlet is viewed as a leader in a number of areas:
Hamlet Development, formed in April 1994, creates well-designed, value-priced residential communities in Northern Utah. Hamlet Development has designed and improved approximately 3,263 home sites in 32 residential communities.
Hamlet Homes, established in October 1995, offers Utah families quality, value-priced town homes and single-family homes in attractively designed neighborhoods.
Diversified Habitats, formed in October 1995, provides wetland consulting services and replacement wetlands for developments that are required to compensate for unavoidable wetland losses. Since its inception, Diversified Habitats has preserved and protected more than 400 acres of wetlands along the shores of the Great Salt Lake.
Stirling Mortgage, formed in October 1998, provides full-service residential home financing to both Hamlet Home and non-Hamlet Home customers.
About Hamlet Homes
Hamlet Homes produces value priced and attractively designed homes and neighborhoods. Our management team has built more than 20,000 homes in the last 30 years. We believe that by applying the knowledge and experiences gained through these many years we will develop and build products that will meet and exceed the needs of our customers.
Hamlet Homes' success in achieving customer satisfaction is measured by its 97 percent average approval rating in ongoing surveys conducted by independent consultants. As evidence of its rapid growth - and growing popularity - Hamlet Homes closed its 1000th home in October 2001, just six years after its inception.
To date, all of Hamlet Homes' communities have been developed by Hamlet Development. However, Hamlet has the autonomy to go out and acquire developed lots from other developers.
Our competitive position is as a provider of value-prices, smartly designed homes in attractively designed and built neighborhoods, which are delivered 100% on time to a highly satisfied customer. Our main competitors inlcude:
- Entry-level builders that operate as a "family run" business with low overhead.
- Local builders with strong ties to the community and with land connections.
Hamlet Home prices range from the low $100's to the $160's. The company's first community, Balmoral in West Valley City, provided the opportunity to put staff and operating systems into place, which were used for future home building operations. Listed below are all Hamlet Home Communities:
